"Marathon Challenge" on Tonight

PBS is doing a special tonight that is billed as being "surprisingly touching" that gives the background on the Olympic Trials and the New York City Marathon.

The hour-long show explore both the psycologivcal and physiological challenges of training for the 26.2 mile event. It features a group of 13 nonrunner participating in a 40-week training program for the Boston Marathon.

Sounds like a fun show to watch, and something that could help get everyone excited for their fall marathons. Be sure to tune in!

Here is the website about the show. There is a 2 minute video clip that really will get you excited to watch.

Great show....much more "scientific" than The Spirit of the Marathon....both really neat!!!
Jeff says "That was nice...now everybody get out there in the cold at 5:45am and run with me" (in front of Cliff's house)

I stumbled on another GREAT show tonight on ESPN. The show is E:60, and they cover a variety of stories. Tonight they did a 15 minute story on Macharia Yuot who will compete in the Olympic Trials on Saturday. The story is AMAZING. You will be speechless watching it, and have a new favorite to cheer for.

Search your TIVOs, and try to find E:60. It should get replayed.

I am trying to find it online for everyone.

Agree - the Marathon Challenge was good and definitely conjured up memories from my first marathon. good stuff. But the story on E:60 is REALLY GREAT. It's an emotional and powerful story. I know who I'm cheering for at the Olympic Trials on Saturday. Go Macharia Yout!

I missed the PBS show... but I'd seen the advertisements for E:60 and I DVR'd it. So I look forward to watching it soon!
